The Boca Raton Museum of Art Presents Three Breakthrough Artists:  Matthew Schreiber | Sari Dienes | Sri Prabha

The Boca Raton Museum of Art is hosting an exhibition featuring three groundbreaking artists: Sari Dienes (1898-1992), Matthew Schreiber (b. 1967), and Sri Prabha (b. 1969). The exhibition showcases the work of each artist in its own gallery on the Museum’s first floor, providing visitors with a multi-sensory experience of art. Curated by Kelli Bodle, the Associate Curator of the Museum, the exhibition will be on view from June 14 to October 22.

Sari Dienes, an influential figure in the Mid-Century art world, is known for her street rubbings, works inspired by her time in Japan, and portraits of her fellow artists. Her exhibition titled “Incidental Nature” features these core elements of her six decades of artmaking.

Matthew Schreiber, a renowned hologram and laser artist, presents his work in an exhibition called “Orders of Light.” Exploring his process deeply, the exhibition includes drawings and holograms depicting spiritualist medium communities in Lily Dale, New York, and Cassadaga, Florida. Schreiber’s works on paper feature blind contour studies, peripheral view drawing, and lens-less photography.

Sri Prabha creates a site-specific installation titled “Resonator-Reanimator,” combining ideas from Vedic eastern philosophy and western science to explore our connection to the natural world. The installation immerses visitors in a psychedelic multiverse of saturated colors.

Irvin Lippman, the Executive Director of the Museum, expresses that these three artists shed light on the tools of perception. He describes the exhibition as an imaginative and multi-sensory panorama of art. Lippman also highlights Sari Dienes’ quote, “Spirit lives in everything,” which serves as a unifying theme for the creative worlds of Dienes, Schreiber, and Prabha.

The exhibition features over 50 works by Sari Dienes, including a collection of ephemera and portraits of her famous circle of artists. Matthew Schreiber’s showcase includes holograms, photographs, and drawings, demonstrating his mastery of light and exploring themes of the occult and spirituality. Sri Prabha’s installation combines various mediums to create a rich sensory experience and explores humanity’s relationship with the natural world.

Visitors can expect to be captivated by the unique perspectives and artistic visions of these three groundbreaking artists at the Boca Raton Museum of Art.

Within this mind frame of meditation, visitors will experience references by the artist to the smallest and greatest elements of our universe. “The idea of the work is to be able to create something that feels immersive and transcendent,” says Prabha.

Prabha’s installations often include elements of light and water. For example, he has created immersive installations using reflective pools of water with projected light patterns that create a mesmerizing effect. These installations evoke a sense of tranquility and invite viewers to contemplate their connection to the natural world.

In addition to his site-specific installations, Prabha also works in various other mediums, including painting, drawing, and digital art. His abstract paintings and digital collages explore the intersection of nature, science, and spirituality. Through his art, Prabha aims to raise awareness about environmental issues and inspire viewers to develop a deeper appreciation for the natural world.

Sri Prabha’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the Pérez Art Museum Miami, the Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami, and the Cornell Fine Arts Museum. He has received several awards and honors for his contributions to the arts, and his work is included in public and private collections.
